This photo was taken by astronaut William Anders during the Apollo 8 mission in 1986. I chose this picture because thinking of being on the moon looking at earth seams really cool. this picture got chose for the top 40 pictures of all time because it is a historical event.
Aaron Thompson took this picture and it is a picture of Christian Golczynski accepting the flag of his father. I picked this picture because i don't think i could stand that now let along when i was eight. i think this picture got in the top 40 pictures of all time because it is really sad but also honorable.
Vanderlei Almeida took this picture and its of a dog named Leao laying at his owners grave. i picked this picture because it would be something my dog would do if i died. i think this picture got chose because it shows the loyalty of a dog to his owner and all so shows the power of friendship.
